Week 15 of the NFL season is in the books and it was a bit of a strange one. Favorites went 10-5 both straight up and against the spread. The point spread didn’t come into play in a single game. In other words, favorites that won all covered the spread and underdogs that won all won outright. It’s just something you don’t see very often.
There were two notable upsets with the 49ers losing as double-digit favorites at home to the Falcons and the Raiders losing as 6.5 point favorites at home to the Jags. Let’s take a look at what this week’s slate looks like.
The playoffs are almost set with all but four spots guaranteed. We still need to find a division winner for the AFC South and the NFC East. The Texans and Cowboys are currently leading, but the Titans and Eagles are both within striking distance, respectively. As for the wild card race, there are still two open spots. If the season ended today, the Steelers and Vikings would be in, but in the AFC the Titans, Browns, and Raiders are all technically alive, though the Steelers or Titans are by far the most likely teams to fill that spot. In the NFC the Vikings have a somewhat comfortable lead, but the Rams or the Eagles could sneak in if Minnesota loses out and one of them win out.
