Georgia Ole Miss Odds

The No. 12 Georgia Bulldogs visit the No. 23 Ole Miss Rebels in a Top 25 SEC battle on Saturday, September 24th. The Bulldogs have won 10 straight meetings with the Rebels, including a 37-10 home victory in their most recent matchup in 2012.

Georgia (3-0) is certainly living on the edge while remaining unbeaten in the early going. Its three wins have come by a combined 12 points, including a hard-fought 28-27 road win at Missouri last week as 7-point favorites.

Ole Miss (1-2) has now blown a 22-point lead against Florida State and a 21-point lead against Alabama this season. It gave up three non-offensive touchdowns in a 48-43 home loss to Alabama last week, snapping its two-game winning streak in the series.

Kickoff inside Vaught-Hemingway Stadium is scheduled for 12:00 EST Saturday afternoon with ESPN providing the television coverage. If you are looking to wager on this game, you’ll find a line of Ole Miss -7.5 over Georgia and a total set of 60 points.

My Early Lean: Georgia +7.5

While I haven’t been all that impressed with Georgia despite the fact that is 3-0, I do believe the value is with the Bulldogs this week catching 7.5 points from Ole Miss. I look for this to be a one-score game either way, so I’ll snatch up the points here.

The biggest reason for fading Ole Miss is because this is a tough spot after a deflating loss to Alabama last week. I always look to fade teams the week after playing Alabama because they put so much into that game that they don’t come back with the same focus the following week. That’s especially the case this week as the Rebels fell just short by a final of 43-48 after blowing a 21-point lead.

And this is clearly not the best matchup for Ole Miss. The Rebels simply cannot stop the run this season. They gave up 334 yards on the ground to Alabama last week, and they’re allowing 243 rushing yards per game and 5.0 per carry on the season.

Georgia loves to run the football behind Nick Chubb. The Bulldogs are averaging 186 rushing yards per game and 4.3 per carry on the season. Chubb already has 365 rushing yards and three touchdowns through three games and should be primed for a big game Saturday.

To say Georgia has had Ole Miss’ number would be a massive understatement. The Bulldogs are 10-0 in their last 10 meetings with the Rebels with six of the last seven wins coming by double-digits.

Georgia is 15-5 ATS in its last 20 road games after allowing 6.25 or more yards per play in its previous game. The Bulldogs are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games.
