The list of television broadcasters for the Super Bowl has really changed throughout the years. A big reason for that is the fact that the National Football League rotates the rights to televise the Super Bowl on an annual basis among CBS, FOX, NBC and ESPN/ABC.
The network that televises the Super Bowl is determined by TV contracts that get negotiated by the NFL every 4-8 years. In recent years, it has been Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth teaming up with NBC, Jim Nantz and Tony Romo calling for CBS, and Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady handling the duties for FOX – with Joe Buck and Troy Aikman now the lead pair at ESPN and ABC.
ESPN and ABC share the broadcast of Super Bowl LXI, the first Super Bowl in ESPN’s history and ABC’s first since February 2006. ESPN’s lead booth this season is Joe Buck on play-by-play and Troy Aikman as analyst, with Lisa Salters and Laura Rutledge on the sidelines, and Peyton and Eli Manning’s ManningCast is set to finish its season with an alternate Super Bowl telecast on ESPN2. Buck and Aikman are set to call the main telecast on ESPN and ABC. Super Bowl LX aired on NBC, with Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth calling the Seattle Seahawks’ 29-13 win over the New England Patriots.
