The 2020 Belmont Stakes was won by odds-on favorite Tiz the Law, ridden by Manuel Franco and trained by Barclay Tagg. Due to rescheduling around the Covid-19 pandemic, the Belmont Stakes was the first leg of the Triple Crown for the first time ever. Because it was the first leg instead of the last, the race was also shortened from 1 1/2 miles to 1 1/8 miles.
The winning time was 1:49.53 by 3 3/4 lengths over runner-up Dr Post.
