Super Bowl Betting Games: Square Grid Pool

It’s no secret that many of us are going to wager on the upcoming Super Bowl. While doing this makes the game fun for you to watch, it really doesn’t do much for those who don’t have money on the game. I am sure many of you have heard of a betting pool, but just in case you haven’t, we are going to let you in on a fun way for everyone to have the chance to walk away a winner.

Popular NFL Betting Game: Super Bowl Squares

One of the most popular betting games is Super Bowl squares.  First off, you need to create a grid that is 10×10, which will create 100 individual squares. The easiest way to number your grid is numerically 0-9, but you don’t have to go in order as long as the numbers 0-9 are all used once.  You can make this table however big you want, but I would suggest using something bigger than your normal piece of paper, such as poster board. Filling in The Super Bowl Squares Grid

Now that you have the table set up, you are ready to start filling in the squares.  The best way to do this is set an equal dollar amount for each square. Of course, you want to sell all the squares in order to have the most prize money in the end. Many times, people will buy more than one square if allowed to increase their chances of winning. Once you have reached 100 participants, you have to randomly assign each person a square.  You can let them place their names in the squares, or you can draw for it, whatever you think is the best way.

Once all of the squares are full, you can figure out what your numbers are. If you have a 4 for the 49ers and a 3 for the Chiefs, you want the ending numbers of each team’s score to be the numbers you have. So if the final score of the first quarter were 49ers 14 and Chiefs 3, you would win the prize for the first quarter. If the score was 49ers 3 and the Chiefs 14, you would not win. Even though you have the same numbers, they are on the opposite teams of what you need them to be to win.

Super Bowl Squares Game Payouts

Before the game has started, you need to decide how you are going to pay out each quarter. Many people like to make each quarter’s prize get bigger as they go, while others like to divide the money up and have equal prizes for each quarter. For example, if you had each square worth $5, then then there would be $500 in the pool.  You could make each quarter worth $125, which is 25 percent of the total prize pool.  You could also start with the first quarter worth $50 and have each quarter go up in increments of $50, making the 4th quarter worth $200.

So, you can see why this would keep everyone interested in the game with a chance to win at the end of every quarter. While not everybody can be a winner, it’s possible for one person to take all the money if his or her numbers hit each quarter. Don’t have people showing up to your party bored.  Set up a Super Bowl betting pool and get everyone involved!
