NFL Divisional Round Playoff Odds & Free Picks Against the Spread

The Wildcard Round of the NFL playoffs provided plenty of excitement and a fair share of upsets with three of four road underdogs winning outright. Saturday’s first game between the Colts and Texans was a bit of a surprise with the Colts pretty much controlling the game from the start. The Colts have made some serious adjustments to their defensive approach and that seems to be paying dividends, especially in their pass rush. Saturday’s second game between the Seahawks and Cowboys marked the only home team winning in this year’s wildcard. Seattle was unable to establish any kind of running game, while Ezekiel Elliott and the Cowboys rushing attack were able to control much of the game. The Seahawks made a push late, but Dallas scored 14 points in the final quarter to advance to the next round.

With Sunday’s first game featuring the Chargers versus the Ravens, Baltimore looked lost for much of the first three quarters. The Ravens could do nothing on offense and while their defense kept them in the game by holding LA to field goal attempts, a late run by Lamar Jackson and the Ravens came up short. That brings us to the evening matchup between the Eagles and the Bears in one of the best games of the NFL season so far. Both defenses played extremely well and the game came down to the final play of the game in what will forever be remembered by Chicago fans as the infamous “double doink” missed field goal, which bounced off both the upright and cross bar in what would have been a game winner for the Bears. Now let’s see what the Divisional Round has in store for us!

NFL Playoffs Divisional Round Betting Lines & Game Predictions

The Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs decides who advances to the Conference Championships in the AFC and NFC.  The Kansas City Chiefs host the Indianapolis Colts in the first meeting between these two teams this season. The Chiefs offense has looked unstoppable at times, but they showed all season long that their defense is apt to give up big plays as well. They rank #1 in the NFL in offensive efficiency, but just 26th out of 32 teams defensively. Meanwhile the Colts rank in the top 10 on both sides of the ball. Offense has been king in the NFL in recent years, but balanced teams do tend to perform well in the playoffs. This should be a great matchup.

The Cowboys and Rams both also meet for the first time this year. This matchup pits strength against strength with the Rams being one of the best offensive units in the NFL this year and Dallas ranking in the top 10 in defense. The only top tier offense the Cowboys have played this year came just a few weeks ago against the Saints.  Dallas was able to hold the Saints to just 10 points in that game. The last time the Rams faced a top ten defense they scored just 6 points against the Bears.  Granted, the Bears were the best defense in the NFL this year, but you do need to consider the defensive strength of the teams the Rams played this year when accessing their offensive success. Of the bottom ten defenses in the NFL, the Rams played the Raiders, the Cardinals twice, the 49ers twice, the Packers, and the Lions.

Sunday’s games kick off with what might be the best matchup of the playoffs so far with the Patriots hosting the Chargers. LA has quietly been one of the best teams in the NFL on both sides of the ball, while New England continues to be the benchmark for success in the AFC. The Patriots do not always look as dominant as they have in the past, but they still know how to win and are the best-coached team in the NFL.  We’ll cap off the divisional round with the Eagles versus Saints in a rematch of a week 11 matchup that saw the Saints dominate on their way to a 48-7 victory. The Eagles have looked like a different teams since then (they were 4-6 to that point and have gone 6-1 since), but that past result does loom pretty large over this matchup.

Below you will find all of the odds for this round of the playoffs. We’ll also post a link to a free betting preview for every game as they become available.  Best of luck with your betting this weekend!
