Odds on Continuous Shuffling Machines

In the game of blackjack, continuous shuffling odds are the same as when the dealer shuffles after the shoe has run out. However, there might be other disadvantages to both the player and the casino with this method that is growing in popularity around the country.

These perpetual shufflers make it almost impossible for card counters, but the odds of the game are not affected whatsoever by the presence of these machines. If you are a basic strategy player, or just your average joe, you shouldn’t make any changes in how you play the game. The only problem is that these machines may take more of a bite out of your bankroll than a hand-shuffled game would because the dealer never has to take a break. This will increase the number of hands dealt per hour and since their is a house edge in this game then this allows the casino to take away more of your bankroll.

The worst part of the shuffling machines is that the personal contact between the player and the dealer seems to be minimized. There is a lot of camaraderie between the dealer and player and the two can enjoy friendly conversations and become bonded in a way over the table. This customer service is lost if the dealer is supposed to be focuses on dealing the cards, collecting and giving out chips, and cleaning up the table. The breaks between hands are when the service occurs and this lost on modern casinos. Even with the odds being just the same, we still prefer to play at tables in which the decks are shuffled by hand.
