Miami Dolphins Schedule

Not much was expected out of the Miami Dolphins in 2012. They were breaking in a new head coach and a rookie quarterback. The Dolphins really exceeded expectations for the most part by compiling a 7-9 record. They opened 4-3 but could not sustain the momentum, losing five of their next six games before winning two of three to close out the season.

Now, quarterback Ryan Tannehill enters his second season, and expectations are a little higher in Miami. However, the schedule makers haven’t done them any favors as the Dolphins will face the eighth-toughest schedule in 2013. Their opponents combined for a 133-123 record and a 52.0 winning percentage last season.

After going 2-4 in the division last year, Miami must do better than that if they want to take that next step. It will also have to play the AFC North and the NFC South, which is no bargain to say the least. The Dolphins have drawn the San Diego Chargers from the AFC West and the Indianapolis Colts from the AFC South as well.

I believe the Dolphins are going to be one of the most improved teams in the league in 2013. They will be in their second year under head coach Joe Philbin, and Tannehill has had a year to mature. Also, I like what they have done this offseason. I have them favored in six games and as a pick ‘em in two others. I look for Miami to reach nine wins in 2013.
