Dallas Cowboys Schedule

The Dallas Cowboys are coming off their third straight non-winning season. They have failed to make the playoffs in each of the past three years. They had their chances in 2012, but stumbled down the stretch. After winning five of six from weeks 10 through 15 to get back into the playoff race, the Cowboys would lose their final two games of the season. That included an 18-28 loss at Washington with the NFC East title on the line.

While many fans are upset with Tony Romo, the organization has decided to lock up the veteran quarterback long-term. He shows signs of being one of the best quarterback in the league at times, but he also makes many costly mistakes late in games. This is still one of the most talented teams in football, and if Jason Garrett can find a way to make it all work, the Cowboys have a chance to be one of the best teams in the league in 2013.

Dallas has been dealt the eighth-easiest schedule heading into the 2013 campaign. Its opponents combined for a 121-134 record and a 48.0 winning percentage a year ago. It will take on the NFC North and AFC West divisions, while also getting to face New Orleans and St. Louis. Both the Saints and Rams finished third in their respective divisions in 2012, just as the Cowboys did.

Cantor gaming has listed the Cowboys as a favorite in seven games, an underdog in eight, and a pick ‘em in one.  I believe that for once, Dallas is finally undervalued heading into a season.  I look for the Cowboys to exceed expectations and win nine or ten games.  They’ll be battling the Washington Redskins and New York Giants for first place in the NFC East.
